Cyborg-Identity

The postulation articulation of the paper is â€Å"the capacity of the people to change characters in an innovation commanded world has obscured the limits between unique personality and the advanced identity†. This point is significant from the viewpoint of human PC association and software engineering today. The people are not just ready to make different personalities on the web, yet they are additionally ready to associate with others being in a transmutable character. This paper will clarify how these limits have been obscured and what delights of stratagem can an individual appreciate through creation different personalities on the internet. With the presentation of long range interpersonal communication frameworks in the previous hardly any years, the Cyborg character is getting to a greater extent a reality than a legend. The line between being simply the individual and embracing another character is getting obscured with the presentation of new advances. Cyborg: a Meta phor? With the mix of equipment, programming and web, the cyborg personality can be distinguished as one of the most obvious figures of the robotic age. Cyborg is a natural being with another personality or a dynamic express that can be embraced effectively when exchanging between environments. This must be accomplished through mechanical expansion. Despite the fact that the motor condition of a cyborg character isn't genuine and can be alluded to as computer generated reality, however it permits one to escape from the physical imperatives and imprisonment of the body and reproduce another computerized personality using designs, three-dimensional innovation, web, equipment and a blend of programming. The utilization of these gadgets and ideas has not just permitted the people to make their cyborg characters, yet in addition to encounter new universes and situations through that identity. With the worldwide appropriation of the World Wide Web, the cyborg personality has advanced delibe rately in our minds as a similitude of the 21st Century. As per Kevin Warwick, people have now become cyborgs through directing a progression of notable examinations and developments. Kevin Warwick, who is an educator of mechanical technology and artificial intelligence, accepts that the people have the ability to change their character in the virtual existence where time and spot doesn't make a difference (Stephen).Transforming into another personality can cost nothing to the people. They simply need to enroll on the virtual universes on the web, plan their new personality and simply begin associating with the earth. This simplicity of character change could have never seen previously. In any case, cyborg can now never be utilized as an illustration as cyborgs currently exist (Nishant). The Ease of Transforming It was never felt that people could be distinguished as cyborgs and it was not envisioned that turning into a cyborg would be so natural and free of cost. For a cyborg experi ence, an individual simply needs to interface with the web, register himself on the site, make a symbol and afterward the human is prepared to encounter a computerized body and build. The greater part of the sites don't require any installment to enroll the clients while the others which are increasingly secure require as meager installment as US$ 5. To structure the character and the physical look of the cyborg in the virtual world, various programming are accessible which are anything but difficult to utilize. Changing the character is presently a prerequisite for the business experts just as the adolescents who need to associate in their social circle.A individual is required to change to his computerized personality when making installments on the web and when engaging in the advanced exchange on the web. Cyborg is currently a system that is vital for the endurance of urban individuals (Nishant). An individual isn't required to take classes or exercises for making a computerized personality in the 21st Century, nor are billions of dollars required to get changed. Changing personality back and forth the advanced world and this present reality is a lot simpler and less expensive than it was however in the past.Technological achievements have permitted this simplicity of changing to the computerized character. The capacities and the capacities that are found out by the cyborg in one of the personalities can be utilized in other character proficiently and viably in today’s world. These parts of the advanced character are obscuring the limits between oneself being and the diverse computerized personalities. Cunning through Graphics In informal communication sites and virtual universes, the utilization of virtual bodies and computerized personalities are getting increasingly common.According to the scholastics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the people are only a year from having the option to download their cognizance into the PCs (Land). The p eople have the ability to plan various bodies, control them and change them at whatever point they need using realistic programming. The computerized appearance of the people probably won't be equivalent to the genuine appearance. This is the reason an individual is supposed to make an alternate character using web. The new character over the web is a fake character which may not take after the genuine personality of a person. The individual properties, for example, the name, weight, skin shading, hair shading, eyes, nose and constructed may be contrastingly spoken to over the web. The Boundaries among Fact and Fiction The people have the ability to blend certainty and fiction as they have the ability to produce new personalities and change to a type of machine. The collaboration with other computerized people over the web may very well be founded on lies and the personality might be founded on fiction. Various societies and the parts of nature that don't exist in all actuality can b e structured in the virtual worlds. The limits among truth and fiction have additionally obscured with the approach of computerized personalities. Human and PC collaboration has been expanded at a rate that was never envisioned. Rather than associating with this present reality, a urban individual invests the greater part of the energy in PCs and web in the virtual universes. With the limits among truth and fiction decreasing over the web, the new age probably won't know about this present reality as all the associations are occurring in the virtual world. With redefinition of the feeling of one’s own body in a world changed by culture and innovation, the people are bound to encounter fiction than realities. The people may get a kick out of the chance to live in the realm of imagination than in reality. As indicated by Nishant, this may make us the things that we have made (Nishant). A model is that an individual who is gay may satisfy his dreams on the web through making a com puterized personality and connecting with other men. In actuality, the individual may be extremely terrified of the general public and scared of others to satisfy his dreams (Dennis). DehumanizingWith the assistance of informal communication sites, for example, Facebook. com Web 2. 0 applications like activeworlds. com and secondlife. com, the individual can make an alternate character which is stunning. These sites and application are driving the people to dehumanize and engage in PC gadgets and programming more often than not (Land). While the individual is changed to the advanced character, he feels that he is living in a cyborg dream. Everything is unbelievable and still feels genuine. The greater part of the communication today in the youths is done on social network sites, for example, Facebook.com and myspace. com. Profiles are the identifiers of these people which contain the physical trait and pictorial qualities. These profiles can be incredible just as there are no checks done to forestall unrealism. The characteristics, for example, name, sexual orientation and age can be distorted on the web to shopper unjustifiable favorable position over the other (Liff). The advances in innovation and the development towards robotic people have constrained us to overlook numerous issues that will be looked by the PC specialists later on. ConclusionIt has been uncovered in the conversation that the capacity of the people to change personalities in an innovation ruled world has obscured the limits between unique character and the computerized personality. A human is begun is be recognized through the computerized personality and this character currently has a pivotal impact in the life of a human. Violence against Women :: Sociology Essays Research Papers

Brutality against Women Sex based brutality has been perceived as a huge general medical issue just as an infringement of human rights around the world. One out of three ladies has been beaten, pressured into sex, or manhandled in another route at any rate once in her life (www.infoforhealth.org). The abuser is normally an individual from the family, presenting the troublesome issue in that the maltreatment for the most part occurs away from public scrutiny, and is regularly seen by social standards and legitimate frameworks as a family matter as opposed to a wrongdoing. The measurements accessible on viciousness against ladies are frightening. Abusive behavior at home is the significant reason for death and incapacity for European ladies ages 16 to 44 and represents a greater number of passings and wounds than car crashes and malignant growth. The Russian government assesses that more than 14,000 ladies were executed by relatives in 1999, however there is still no enactment that explicitly addresses abusive behavior at home. In South Africa, more ladies are shot in the home by family members than are shot in the city or by interlopers (web.amnesty.org). Two of the most well-known types of maltreatment in youth, puberty, and adulthood are close accomplice misuse and constrained sex. Close accomplice misuse is quite often joined by genuine mental maltreatment and in one quarter to one portion of cases is additionally joined by constrained sex. Most ladies that are manhandled various occasions frequently become alarmed of their accomplices. Many are frightened to address somebody about the maltreatment because of the dread that the maltreatment will deteriorate whenever announced (www.infoforhealth.org). In certain nations, ladies are oppressed by laws that don't shield from viciousness in the home. Police and persecutors once in a while decline to help ladies mishandled in the home as a result of the bogus suspicion that these ladies welcome on the maltreatment themselves. Ladies that endeavor to affirm against their spouses may lose care of their youngsters. For ladies of these countries, its absolutely impossible out and no one to tune in (web.amnesty.org). The impacts of misuse might be impeding to a woman’s conceptive wellbeing, just as to different parts of her physical wellbeing and mental state. Alongside expanding injury, physical maltreatment can cause a variety of different issues, for example, expanded danger of unintended pregnancy, explicitly transmitted diseases, unfavorable pregnancy entanglements, constant torment, physical inability, despondency, and medication and liquor use. Human services suppliers frequently botch chances to recognize if a lady has been manhandled by either being unconscious, uninterested, or critical.

Jfk conspiracy Essay Example For Students

Jfk connivance Essay In 1976, the US Senate requested a new investigation into the death of John F Kennedy, who was killed in 1963 during a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. Individuals who had been associated with the first Warren Commission examinations were approached to offer new expressions. The FBI and the CIA were convinced to discharge a greater amount of their reports on Oswald. New lines of request were opened and people who had not recently given proof were convinced to approach. Generally significant of all, bits of proof, for example, photographs and sound accounts were exposed to logical investigation utilizing the most cutting-edge strategies and hardware. The House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) finished their examination in 1979 and they at last went to a discrete decision that Lee Harvey Oswald discharged three shots at Kennedy, one of which executed the president. The fourth shot was discharged from the green glade. They reasoned that John Kennedy was killed because of a connivanc e. There are numerous reasons why the HSCA resulted in these present circumstances decision, yet initially it was significant that the American individuals comprehended why this case was re-opened longer than 10 years later! The examination was set up as immediate aftereffect of the deaths of two other major political figures; the social equality pioneer, Dr Martin Luther King and the Presidents sibling Robert Kennedy, in 1968. Normally this stirred massive doubt and the American open began addressing why such a large number of key US figures had been killed in the space of only four years when beforehand this sort of occurrence had been uncommon. At the time there was additionally an expanding measure of defilement and embarrassment inside the legislature. This frightened the open who had totally confided in the administration previously. The Watergate Scandal in 1974 including President Nixon had plainly demonstrated this was not the case any longer. Nixon had manhandled his positi on and capacity to further his potential benefit. This demonstrated even legislators were inclined to scum and outrage. Subsequently, individuals likewise began scrutinizing the conduct of the administration. This is no doubt why they were progressively open in tolerating that Kennedy was the survivor of a scheme, later on. People in general additionally turned out to be progressively keen on the Kennedy death as books, for example, Rush to judgment by Mark Lane and Inquest by Edward Jay Epstein, began to be composed. They promptly turned out to be smash hits and assumed a huge job in bringing issues to light with respect to the death. Therefore individuals began to ask more and bits of gossip started that others or associations had been engaged with Kennedys death i.e there had been a scheme. As individuals turned out to be increasingly more mindful about the occasions encompassing the death, many accused the Dallas police as being awkward in dealing with the entire examination. They had demonstrated to be incredibly sloppy in spite of the way that the President had recently been killed. The way that interviews hadnt been recorded was one reason why there was so much disarray. However the main reason the Dallas police could concoct was that they couldnt discover a recording device! The inquiries that w ere posed by the officials demonstrated to useless and what little records were kept are supposed to be insufficient. Anyway more genuinely, the Dallas police were fiercely accepted to be to blame for Oswalds passing and even the overall uncertainty over his blame. Despite the fact that already an endeavor had been made to execute Oswald, no further security precautionary measures had been taken to keep this from happening once more. Taking into account that they were holding the supposed professional killer of the President in care, the security was shocking. On account of Jack Ruby, one shot had demonstrated adequate enough to execute Oswald. The way that correspondents were permitted to blend around Oswald as he was accompanied out of court, most likely caused the passing. Free to Oswald ought not have been allowed under any situation. Oswald was killed before cameras and video film of the episode shows that the police didnt make scarcely any endeavors to forestall the homicide, however actually just remained there. Numerous individuals have seen this as incredibly dubious. Some accept that Jack Ruby executed Oswald to quietness him and the police were requested to allow it to occur. In the event that this is valid, who were they taking requests from?Despite errors, for example, these, for a long time the American open must be content with the Warren Commissions decision that Lee Harvey Oswald had been the sole professional killer in the homicide of John Kennedy who kicked the bucket as consequence of three shots being discharged from the Texas school safe structure. Anyway since the report was distributed on 24 September 1964, new proof continued surfacing, as did irregularities on the Warren Commissions part. There was a general inclination that they had ignored proof on the off chance that it repudiated their decision. They had been feeling the squeeze from people in general to go to a decision. At the time Oswald had appeared the ideal individual to acc use a motiveless man with resentment. They had no uncertainty been impacted by popular supposition and their determination had been a rushed one. Truth be told, three days after the death, Lyndon Baines Johnson got an update saying; The open must be fulfilled that Oswald was the professional killer, that he didn't have confederates. By the 1970s Americans were really frightened that the Warren Commission had been so resolute and didn't make any endeavor to examine other potential speculations and that they hadnt followed various promising leads. It later likewise became exposed that none of the commission individuals had any insightful encounters and totally depended on Hoover and the FBI. Nonetheless, likely their greatest mix-up was ignoring key onlookers whom they viewed as incongruent, conflicting and were in opposition to their solitary crazy professional killer hypothesis. No one of the commission heard one of the observers who showed up before the guidance. Among them were ur gent observers, for example, Abraham Zapruder. Others didnt even give proof. J C Price, an observer at the motorcade, professed to have seen a man with a rifle running behind the fence on the lush meadow. So also, Gordon Arnold and James Simons expressed that the shots originated from the green glade. Jean Hill, an educator who was remaining close to the Presidents vehicle, stated: I heard four to six shots and Im quite used to weapons. They werent echoes. They were various weapons that were being fired.Credible declarations from actually many observers, for example, these was disregarded simply in light of the fact that it repudiated the Warren Commissions decision of a solitary professional killer discharging three shots from the safe structure. This demonstrated their report depended on dreadfully particular perusing of proof and just shows how solid it was! All these observer declarations stayed uncertain to the Warren Commission at that point, as they just didnt bode well. Thus Kennedys post-mortem examination reports likewise contained numerous inconsistencies. Two examinations were completed on Kennedy. It was trusted at the time that they would uncover the edges at which the projectiles had entered Kennedys body, ideally highlighting where the shooter or shooters were arranged. The post-mortems really made significantly more disarray, as they were totally conflicting. The primary post-mortem was led in Parkland Hospital, Dallas in spite of the fact that the official one was directed in Bathesda Naval Hospital, Washington DC. At the point when the two assessments were thought about, disturbing contrasts appeared. The principle distinction was that the exit and passage wounds were supposed to appear as something else. In Dallas, specialists asserted that the projectile entered Kennedys body at the front of the neck, about tie stature. At the point when Kennedy was brought into Parkland Hospital, Dr Malcom Perry said that when he was going to play out the tracheotomy, he saw an opening of about 5mm just beneath Kennedys thyroid cartilage, apparently where the projectile had entered. As opposed to this, in Washington the examination reports show that the slug left from the neck. Their report affirmed the single projectile hypothesis tended to by the Warren Commission whose end was exceptionally subject to this hypothesis. This was the shot entered Kennedys right shoulder bone, wounded the lash muscles of the correct side of the neck, harming the windpipe and making its exit through the front of the neck. As per the single shot hypothesis, exactly the same projectile entered Governor Connallys back, who had been situated before Kennedy, experienced his chest taking out piece of his fifth rib and falling his lung. The projectile at that point went into his correct wrist and afterward covered itself in his left thigh. In spite of the fact that there is clinical proof to help this hypothesis, some accept that the projectiles way and spee d couldn't have been conceivable. Indeed, even Governor Connally accepted that the projectile that injured Kennedy wasnt a similar one that liable for his injuries. A FBI beneficial report expresses that the slug that entered Kennedys back had infiltrated to not exactly a finger length. In the event that this is valid, in what manner can the shot have left from the front of his neck? There are obviously different realities that twist this hypothesis, for example, the way that the slug was bafflingly found on an emergency clinic cot in flawless condition. However the shot ought to have been in a bad way and giving indications of extreme effect, taking into account that it had experienced two significant bones and had detached a lot of muscle. Anyway a few scholars accept that the slug was in truth planted on the cot by the FBI or CIA with the goal that they could nail the death to Oswald, again showing the inclusion of an intrigue. Another upsetting bit of proof encompassing the diss ections is the way that the shot injury to the head was said to have entered at various points. On report says that it entered at a low direction while the other said that it entered at a high direction. Just as this the charts and measur

Bookkeeping questions - Essay Example In Pakistan, the principles and guidelines applying to distributed budget summaries under Companies’ Ordinance 1984 incorporate, arrival of quarterly fiscal reports by the board after survey of the equivalent by an outside review firm (Ashraf and Ghani, 2005). Money related revealing in Pakistan takes arranges as per the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Other legal prerequisites under the SECP incorporate convenience of explanations to clients by being justifiable, pertinent, reliably spoke to, judicious, complete, nonpartisan, and inside the best possible time frame. The change I would recommend to these guidelines would remember acknowledgment of materiality and conglomeration for introducing comparable class things independently in the budget reports. This rule recognizes substance over structure and is firmly connected to unwavering portrayal of budgetary reports. This change would guarantee that the reviewers perceive the introduction of prepaid cards as income as per their substance, which reflects monetary reality. I will in general concur with the various allegations leveled against the examiners by the company’s the executives. To start with, the examiners had out of nowhere changed their view on acknowledgment of prepaid cards as income for the money related period dependent at a bargain and not use. The examiners had given a spotless report of their review, and still proceeded to recommend an alternate income acknowledgment arrangement. The issue with fulfilling time constraints by the examiners likewise abused SECP guidelines on auspicious introduction of budgetary reports (Ibrahim, 2006). Guidelines administering the corporate segment specify that the reviewers ought to be liberated from any irreconcilable situation to give an unprejudiced and free supposition (Ibrahim, 2006). The substitution of examiners under SECP orders commands the commission to select new inspectors, which is a method of improving

How to Come Up With College Persuasive Essay Topics

How to Come Up With College Persuasive Essay TopicsWhen writing a persuasive essay, one of the most common challenges is coming up with college persuasive essay topics. This can be especially challenging because a college persuasive essay will be competing for readers that may have a range of different viewpoints in their opinion on any given topic. While some students are comfortable using words like 'basically'basically,' others do not have as much confidence when it comes to choosing college persuasive essay topics. The good news is that it is possible to come up with an assignment that does not rely heavily on such words to help you write your argument. One of the first things that you should do when it comes to writing a persuasive essay is to find out who the reader is that you will be writing for. Students often struggle with this step, and sometimes even give up on the idea of writing a persuasive essay. However, you must take the time to find out the audience that you will be writing for, otherwise it would be almost impossible to make an effective persuasive argument.Once you have the audience you will be writing for, you will be able to start thinking about the direction that your persuasive essay will take. For example, if you are going to talk about rape culture in college then you will want to think about the audience and what they think about rape culture. However, if you are writing a persuasive essay on the issues of euthanasia or assisted suicide, then you will want to take these other issues into consideration as well. This means that you will need to consider the viewpoint of the other side. You can get in the habit of making sure that you consider the viewpoints of the other side so that you can build upon their arguments. You might also be able to get their point of view across better if you make sure that you have thought about their arguments.Just remember that when you write a persuasive essay, you should always try to focus on the points t hat you agree with the other person on. You do not want to waste your time arguing with someone that you do not agree with, and you should focus on the points that you agree with the other person. So remember that writing a persuasive essay is about taking other people's points of view and then using them to build upon the arguments that you have. This will ensure that you do not lose any of the points that you disagree with.

Is Chicago A Serious Problem - 1641 Words

Chicago is facing a serious problem. Over this year s Fourth of July Weekend, eighty four people were shot resulting in fourteen deaths. After this violent weekend, Mayor Rahm Emmanuel nearly called for total martial law, calling upon United States Military s support to help protect Chicago s citizens and patrol Chicacgo s streets. So far in 2015, over 2,300 people have been shot in the city of Chicago, and it is only a matter of days until the death toll surpasses four hundred on the year. There are a number of factors that contribute to this inflated level of violent crime. Some would point to loose gun restrictions, others to gang fragmentation. I believe the most influential factor leading to these high rates of crime in certain†¦show more content†¦Keef is well aware of the trials and tribulations facing the youth who grow up on his gang riddled streets. He is also aware of his claim to stardom, as well as his influence and power, with which should come a greater sense of social responsibility. Imagine being a thirteen year old growing up with a single mother in Compton or Chicago, two communities heavily inflicted with poverty and gang violence. Too quote the website, Teen Ink says American youth are a target of the marketers of rap and hip-hop. In many low-income areas, some youth, particularly African-American males, are growing up with limited opportunities. Some of them have no important male role model in their lives, so they look up to a rap or hip-hop artist. Without a father figure, American youth is subject to the dignitaries of rap and to those higher ups behind the scene who target and take advantage of the disadvantaged kids; living in broken homes, without an identity, and desperate to be a part of something. It is so easy to exploit troubled youth because a vast majority of the artists influencing these young kids came from the same city, started from the same projects, and escaped from a similar, hopeless situation. In his essay Realness and Hoodness, Ginger Jacobson states, â€Å"Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the information they are exposed to because they are likely to use it as a basis for decision making without the cognitive ability to consider other decision-making pathways.

Counseling And Christian Perspective On Counseling

Counseling and Christian Perspective Studying psychology and philosophy has made me ask many questions. By what principles do people make decisions? What drives us? Where do emotions come from? Are there such things as unconscious motives and thoughts or are those ideas nothing more than the clever and profitable figment of psychologists’ imagination? However, the main question I struggled with is who we are and how we operate? Counseling is seen as a very solution focused approach. The temptation to rush quickly to the end of the mystery novel must be resisted. The detective’s clever conclusions cannot be fully appreciated without first understanding the complexities of the tangle he unravels. The same principle applies here: an adequate appreciation of solutions depends on an adequate understanding of people and their problems. The Christian community and secular communities are overrun with ideas about wholeness and growth. The solution of Calvary, for example, is only valued too the degree that the problem of sin is grasped. If we skip the hard and sometimes tedious work of figuring out who we are and why we struggle so much, then our efforts as counselors to help others will be shallow and, in the long run, unhelpful. The relationship between Christianity and Counseling â€Å"Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus.† Could it really be as simple as the hymn suggests? This sort of thinking sounds very hopelessly naive and dangerously superficial. IfShow MoreRelatedThe Counsel Of Heaven On Earth Essay1596 Words   |  7 Pageswritten by Ian F. Corruption as a Consequence of Colonialism - as portrayed in Achebe’s The African Trilogy All quotations are taken from the 1988 Picador edition of Chinua Achebe’s The African Trilogy He has put a knife on all the things that held us together and we have fallen apart (Things Fall Apart, 145) The things that held the Igbo tribe together were their close bonds of clan kinship, unified allegiance to their gods, and their democratic society. These were the very things that the English set out to attack, to ‘put a knife on’. Once they began this process, Igbo society was never to be the same again. What cheek! A witch-doctor making a fool of the British Administration in public! However, the responses of those chosen were not always as idealistic as Ezeulu’s. Many Igbos jumped at the chance of some real power, safe in the knowledge that they were backed by British officials, and Warrant chiefs became notorious for their corruption and exploitation. Speaking of the Warrant Chief he has instigated in Okperi, Winterbottom exclaims: The man was a complete non-entity until we crowned him, and now he carries on as if he had been nothing else all his

Gun Control Essay - 1353 Words

Gun Control Gun control is an action of the government that is supposed to reduce crime. Congress has passed many laws on this subject and there really has not been an effect. Gun control has been a controversial issue for years, but the citizens of the United States have a right to own guns and the Constitution states that. On the governments path to control guns they created the Brady Act. Handgun Control Incorporated is the major organization for lobbying, and introducing legislation on gun control. They feel that violent video games are partially responsible for their childrens death. They claim that the video game taught the shooter how to be an excellent marksman. The boy had never used a gun, but was skilled enough to hit eight moving targets in only eight shots (Prichard). Another fact that backs up the parents belief is that of military training. Each year billions of dollars are spent to train police and the military how to shoot. Video simulation is the best way to help overcome the natural resistance that most people have about shooting someone. Studies show that people are extraordinary susceptible to programming. One main difference between military training and video games is that military instructions are constantly pausing the action and where the video game is in constant action (Blakemore). There is no direct relationship between the number of guns and the amount of crime in the United States. Between 1973 and 1992, the rate of gun ownership increased by forty-five percent while the homicide rate during that period fell by nearly ten percent. Supply Chain Management Procedure

Question: HowSupply chain management resembles a procedure for manufacturing goods from the raw materials? Explain. Answer: Supply chain management resembles a procedure for manufacturing goods from the raw materials and then transforms it into the final product before delivering the final goods from point of origin to point of consumption. Effective supply chain management not only demonstrates the effectiveness of the company, but it also helps them to forecast for their better business activities. The efficiency of supply chain management relies on crucial key flows- Information Flow, Product Flow, Cash Flow and Return Flow that evaluates the production of the goods with using modern technology for better efficiency. Request for quotation, purchase order, monthly manufacturing schedules and then delivery of the final product from supplier to consumer through warehouses, dealers and retailers define the importance of information flow and product flow respectively. In this report, an electronic gadgets manufacturing organization named Flextronics International Ltd. is taken into consideration, where the key-flows and process planning will be illustrated along with the forecasting techniques that are used for developing the existing business approaches for a high supply of their manufactured goods. Introduction Christopher (2016) illustrates that supply chain management is a process of transferring manufacturing goods from supplier to manufacturer and then manufacturer to the wholesaler and finally to the retailer to consumer. This chain management system also emphasizes on information regarding materials, information and finances. In this assignment, a Singapore based global supply chain solutions company is selected- Flextronics International Ltd. (Flextronics or Flex) that manufacture packaged electronic products, build ships and smart cars and offers a range of design and engineering services ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). Stadtler (2015) illustrate that supply chain managements are important as it improves the bottom line of the organization, streamlining day-to-day product flows and boosts the customer services. The concerned organization gains a profit of $1.6 billion in the year 2015, which is 4.1% high, compared to the year 2014 ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). In this report, the key flows in the supply chain management and its effectiveness along with the information flow, cash flow, and return flow will also be described. In addition to that, the planning and material requirement for the planning process will be illustrated under the process of the manufacturing process and lastly the supply chain forecasting will be taken into consideration. Discussion 5Key flows of the Supply Chain Management Product flow is a process where a product manufactured from the scratch and delivered as a final product to the clients. Monczka et al. (2015) demonstrate manufactured goods are firstly produced then supplied to the suppliers from where the products are delivered to factories then to the warehouse and outlets for sale of the products. Flextronics has a complex global network of 14,000 suppliers and an effective supporting team in a factory, who designs, manufactures and ships products to the desired destinations ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). Moreover, Flextronics produced millions of products every month and delivered their complete product to their valuable clients like Apple Inc., Microsoft Inc. and Ford MotorCo. through the installer to local distributor to area distributor to prime distributor to the supplier to sub-supplier and then to the dealer ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2 016). Information Flow According to Prajogo and Olhager (2012), information flow resembles a strategy where an organization shares their manufacturing information and the facility they are providing to their clients as well as the supplier. They provide knowledge to their customers about their innovation. They have centers of excellence, Lab IX and vendors for developing innovative advancements to our core technologies. Ross (2013) mentions that the information-flow can also be depicted through their information system where store at one country can contact with headquarters through new real-time software. They utilizes this technology for informing their headquarters regarding the adverse situation like political unrest, extreme weather and natural disasters and the inability of delivering their end-products to the stores of those locations. Cash Flow The flow of funds from the end-clients to the manufacturer and then from manufacturers to the supplier is known as Cash Flow (Wuttke et al., 2013). In Flextronics International Ltd., cash flow remains a hallmark and this can be seen through their recognition as an organization that produced positive cash flow for the 15th consecutive year in fiscal 2016 ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). The concerned organization enhances their cash flow through effective inventory management and collaboration of the supply chain management with stakeholders. Attractive electronics products and smart fuel-efficient vehicles with innovative ideas like user-friendly, eco-friendly and energy efficient devices motivate their users to buy their products that increase their cash flow within the business (Zhu et al., 2012). Return Flow Dyckhoff et al. (2013) depict that in supply chain management, the process of the reusing of products is known as return fl ow. This not only reduces costs for the next sequence of manufacturing and helps in increasing their revenues but it also boosts the consumer loyalty. Reverse flow in Flextronics International Ltd. helps them to repurchase their 335 million shares from $2.5 billion that result in 33% reduction of their shares outstanding ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). The organization implements the green supply-chain management concepts and practices and emphasizes majorly on the dismantling of vehicles for supporting the return flow of their supply chain management. Recommendation for future The managing authorities of the considered organization should focus more on the information and product flow. They must increase transparency with their clients and improve their distribution network by introduction real-time inventory management. Supply chain management can also be improved by collaborating ERP software and cloud technology with the existing system where they can monitor robust metrics available through their ERP systems. Another ERP benefit of this system is that it encourages both just-in-time manufacturing and JIT Inventory Management. It increases the inventory turnaround time and decreases inventory costs. The Make Process The effectiveness of a manufacturing organization can be evaluated through their potential of the entire process to supply products and services to fulfill the demand of their customers (Fredendall Hill, 2016). Control process signifies the redesign of the process and assembling all the required resources together. Moreover, Monczka et al. (2015) in production planning, the ability of the organization for accomplishing the entire task by satisfying their customers demand in an optimal way is emphasized more. Effectiveness of planning process Kerzner (2013) depicts that the planning of material required for the planning process of the production comprises of manufacturing planning, plant and logistics planning, engineering procedure to select the most efficient procedure, assembly manufacturing and part manufacturing along with the manufacturing quality validation. Flextronics International Ltd. not only offer their designs and plan for building ships and packaged electronic gadgets to original equipment manufacturers but they also provide a range of design and engineering services for raw materials like metals, plastic injection molding, machining, mechanicals and precision plastics ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). Moreover, Ross (2015) illustrate that the concerned organization takes an initiative to develop each department under their organization so that they can scrutinize everything from the scratch and determine the difficulty of any adverse situation. Christopher and Ryals (2014) demonstrate that they also consult with professional and digital experts for gaining knowledge in the current application so that they can implement those applications in their electronic devices and smart devices to attract more customers. In this procedure, they have to invest a portion of their profit revenue in research and development departments where they planned on making their business process more reliable and deliv ered those products to the destination locations (Coyle et al., 2016).Improvements in supply chain management with some theories and concept Brandenburg et al. (2014) portrays that transformation process model resembles that the organization manufacture the raw materials like seats, steering wheels, clutch pads for cars and plastic, glass, epoxy, copper, tin, silicon, chrome and synthetic rubber for cell phones. They have an engineer to suggest them how to assemble the final product so that the efficiency of the product can be enhanced. The transformation process comprises of manufacturing and service operations to change the input into output. Moreover, Christopher and Ryals (2014) mentions that the concerned organization should majorly concentration on three-V strategies - Visibility, variability and velocity. If an organization aims for a demand flow manufacturing, it is important for that organization to focus on high inventory levels. They should also take consideration of the materials and the products that are customers demand the most in the market. (Fernie, 2014) depict that lack of material visibility; result in the loss of the profitability of the organization. Variability in product development needs high variability in engineering where everyone should take responsibility for their jobs and enhance manufacturing capabilities so that a wide variety of electronics items and automobiles can be delivered to the customers (Brandenburg et al., 2014). In addition to that, velocity can affect a companys ability to develop a supply-chain management strategy and then implement them quickly for evaluating whether it benefits the organization or not. Lastly, Flextronics should give regular training to the existing employees so that all the departments can serve their best to manufacturing the electronic gadgets. Supply Chain Forecasting Different forecasting model Lin (2014) illustrate that there are different models by which Supply Chain Forecasting can be made- qualitative forecasting techniques, quantitative forecasting technique, graphical forecasting methods and trend forecasting models. Qualitative forecasting techniques and quantitative forecasting technique are the two majorly used forecasting techniques in management. In qualitative forecasting techniques, the evaluation is based solely on the judgmental ability of the authorities (Tayur et al., 2012). This method is only implemented when the production of the goods are lower than the demand. On the contrary, Kwakkel and Pruyt (2013) depicts that in quantitative forecasting technique, mathematical and statistical techniques are used to analyze the data and the situation using two categories- Time series model and casual models. Furthermore, these time series model can also be evaluated on a weekly basis, monthly basis or half-yearly basis relying on the dem and and business procedure undertaken by an organization. Demand forecasting is the most crucial forecasting method that is adopted by supply chain management service provider and can be classified into two categories- short-term demand forecasting and long-term demand forecasting (Jaipuria Mahapatra, 2014). Short term forecasting is used on a weekly or monthly basis; however, long term forecasting covers a period of three months, six months or one year. According to Ho et al. (2015) other electronics manufacturing companies use control tower approach, where they assess production and its distribution along with the plan for reducing the complexity, cost and risk of their supply chains. Mishra et al. (2016) depicts that visibility plays a crucial role in forecasting an effective procedure for supplying their products to the customers and control tower strategy helps in freight flows that allow organizations to gain greater visibility for product movement. Apart from these advantage s, Lin (2014) states that through a control tower system, logistic department of an organization offer significant benefits to customers like rigorous monitoring of manufacturing operations and 24/7 coverage of every location so that clients can get information about the delivery of their products. Recommendation to the best supply chain model that suits the selected organization Flextronics International Ltd. uses the quantitative forecasting technique for evaluating the progress of their organization by assessing the business proceedings at a regular interval of time and if any adversity is found, authorities are intended to solve those adverse consequences with practical procedures. The efficiency of the forecasting techniques can be analyzed depending on the whether they emphasize on make-to-order items or make-to-stock items. The second step that the selected organization is emphasizing on is to develop statistical data and graphical representation and forecast whether the prod uction matches with some manufactured goods that the sales department expects to sell. This results in their competitiveness and improves company-wide efficiency compared to any other organization. Flextronics International Ltd. also emphasizes on Spare Parts Forecasting for maintaining and analyzing the control process of the inventory of spare parts ("Flex Product and Supply Chain Solutions and Manufacturing Services | Flex", 2016). This is one of the less used forecasting techniques by any manufacturing organization as they rely on a third party for their spare parts. However, the concerned organization adopts a technology where they focus on every step and evaluating the progress of every activity for a better supply management model depicted in the above figure. Prajogo and Olhager (2012) stated that firm- level forecasting and product-line forecasting so that the electronic products can be assessed regularly and the product-line forecasting helps to decide which products sho uld have priority to manufacture the most according to customers need. Adopting this methods, Flextronics can accomplishes production planning or scheduling, distribution, collaborative planning and strategy implementation efficiently for better productivity and profitability. Conclusion Supply chain management is a procedure where the approach of the organization for manufacturing of the goods and then assembled into the final products for delivery to the customers is known as the supply chain management. In this report, a manufacturing organization named Flextronics International Ltd. is considered. This organization manufactures designs smart cars, ships and electronic devices for its original equipment manufacturers. The major concern of this report is to analyze the key flows of the supply-chain management system for the organization and the effectiveness of the planning procedure and supply chain forecasting. Flextronics utilizes quantitative forecasting techniques for making their business procedure more effective for enhancing their performance. They also integrate their business proceedings with the digital technology like personalized ERP software and Cloud computing that makes their customers track their orders and products through internet facility. Flex tronics also monitors these activities for better customer services. They also integrate real-time software for communicating with their branch at other countries for analyzing the supply chain activities in those places and how it can be affected by the political conditions and natural calamities. Lastly, a reliable communication with all their stakeholders and conducting regular surveys from their employees and customers help them to assess their performance and provide them chances for developing themselves. The Tiger essays

The Tiger essays A Modern Twist to a Classic Fairy Tale Throughout history, the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast has been ever changing. The Tigers Bride by Angela Carter is a modern version with a few distinct trademarks. It is authentic in nature because of the period in which it was written. The Tigers Bride was published in 1979, centuries after the original version of Beauty and the Beast. Carter chose to write the short story from Beautys point-of-view in order to exemplify her own feministic ideals. In addition, the heroin, Beauty has evolved from a passive, loyal, and submissive young lady into a confident and stubborn woman who freely expresses her anger toward men. From the changing of times to the changes in Beautys attributes, The Tigers Bride is entirely unique. In the late 70s, women had minds of their own and their futures were not restricted to serving their husbands. Angela Carters writing was influenced by womens newfound poise. This was a period in which women ventured out of the kitchens in search of prominent job titles. These women were not willing to sit back and wait for the men to bring home all of the glory. They also were not afraid to stand up for themselves. It is obvious that Carter believed that women should not take every authority figures word as the law. She felt they should be free to express their ideas in all situations. Carter specifically demonstrates this through Beautys unwillingness to do what the English nurse asks of her. I was a wild wee thing and she could not tame me into submission. Beginning when Beauty was young, even the nurse could not scare her into good behavior. She never took anyones wishes except her own into account. Individuality and womens rights were also extremely important during this time. Women could act however their hearts desired. Their futur...

Anthropology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 5

Anthropology - Essay Example The first theory of a land bridge between Siberia and Alaska has been around for awhile. If an individual places a map of the world on a table, the continents look like they can fit together. The earth’s crust and upper mantle have plates. These plates slide and move. The moving of these plates cause earthquakes and tsunamis. It also causes land to break apart. Another factor is the ice age. When the great meltdown occurred a land bridge could have been submerged. This land bridge, Beringia, would have connected Siberia and Alaska. If that connection was made, then it is possible that the Native Americans migrated from Siberia. After reaching North America the Native Americas would have migrated south. Another theory is the coastal migration. The Native Americans would have sailed in canoes from Siberia to Alaska. Then the Native Americans would have migrated south to South America. Both continents would be populated before Columbus arrived. This theory would depend on the migrants knowing about the route. The passage would have to be during the summer, or when ice chunks were not present. This is the least likely of the scenarios. The final scenario is migrants came across the giant ice sheet. If an ice age was in full force, migrants might go south for a warmer climate. The trail would have gone toward westward and southward. If the ice shelves were as scientist think, than the ice would have melted without a trace. All three theories depend on one same element†¦food. Prehistoric people hunted for food and warmth from the furs. If the herds of caribou, wooly mammoth, or whatever was around at the time left, the hunter would have gone to search for prey. In the northern parts of Siberia planting a garden to provide for food year round is not an option. The hunters would have had to follow the food. As the animals’ natural instinct led them south, the hunters would have followed. Not only would the hunters

ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT PROJECT ON WALMART Essay

ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT PROJECT ON WALMART - Essay Example Wal-Mart values its inventories at the lower of cost or market value, which essentially means if the market value of inventory falls, the company will write-down the inventory value in its balance sheet. Wal-Mart is divided into three segments: Wal-Mart U.S, Wal-Mart International and Sam’s Club. All of the merchandise related to the U.S segment is valued using the Last in First out (LIFO) method. LIFO is an inventory valuation method allowed under US GAAP but not under IFRS (CFA institute, 2012). LIFO assumes that inventory items purchased most recently are sold first and hence the items remaining in the inventory are assumed to be the oldest items purchased. In period of rising prices, LIFO reports a higher cost of sales and lower ending inventory figure than other inventory valuation methods. Higher cost of sales lead to lower gross profit and hence results in tax savings. The company reports a LIFO reserve in its annual statements for reconciliation of LIFO cost of sales a nd inventory with FIFO cost of sales and inventory. This is to ensure that comparisons can be made with other companies in the retail industry that use FIFO as their inventory valuation method. Wal-Mart’s inventory turnover rate has been on the lower side considering the diverse range of product it sells. Inventory turnover rate fell from 8.6 times in 2011 to 8.2 times in 2012 which means that it took almost 44 days for Wal-Mart to convert its inventory into sales in 2012 and 42 days in 2011. Wal-Mart uses accrual accounting to prepare its annual statements. Accrual accounting is different from cash accounting in the sense that in accrual accounting revenues are recorded when they are earned and expenses are recorded when they are incurred whereas in cash accounting revenues are recorded when the money is received and expenses are recorded when cash is paid out (Investopedia, 2009). Wal-Mart has accrued liabilities of $18.154B indicating that these liabilities are due and Wal -Mart has not yet paid them. Moreover, prepaid expenses amounted to $1.685B in 2012 indicating that these expenses have already been paid in advance (Wal-Mart, 2012). In cash accounting, prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities are not recorded since these are obligations that are due but no cash outflow has been made in lieu of these obligations. Accrual accounting can be manipulated to show higher earnings by using estimates that inflate the income. For instance, unjustly inflating the ending inventory figure can result in a lower cost of sales and consequently inflate the net income of a company. In Wal-Mart’s case, figures are presented conservatively so that the income is not inflated unreasonably. The receivables of Wal-Mart increased by 16.7% from 5.089B in 2011 to $ 5.937B in 2012 (Wal-Mart, 2012). Wal-Mart records a provision for doubtful debts, which is a contra-asset account and is recorded to account for the prudence concept. According to the prudence concept, imp robable expenses are recorded whereas improbable revenues are not accounted for. Provision for doubtful debts is created to account for debts that will remain unpaid. The reserve for doubtful accounts is based on historical trends in collection of the past due amounts that debtors owe to a company and on the write-off history of the company. The total provision for doubtful accounts increased by 28% from $252M in 2011 to $323M in 2012

How Rococo and Neoclassicism Illustrate the Process of Deciding in thei

How Rococo and Neoclassicism Illustrate the Process of Deciding in their Paintings The artists Jean-Honore Fragonard and Jaques-Louis David both successfully embody their respective stylistic differences. Fragonard’s style of painting is Rococo, which is characterized by its softness, asymmetry and curviness. Contrasting these ideals is David’s style of painting, Neo-Classicism. Neo-Classicism is synonymous with strong gestures, symmetry, and solidness. Two works that best exemplify the ideals of each style of painting are Fragonard’s The Swing, 1767 and David’s The Death of Socrates, 1787. Although at first glance, it is easier to focus on how each work is different to the other, one can argue that they are similar in theme. Both The Swing and The Death of Socrates are works that deal with the theme of decision making. However, they differ in how each work portrays the theme of deciding. While The Swing focuses on infidelity and the process of deciding, The Death of Socrates makes it clear that loyalty to government is stronger than the ties of friendship or acquaintance. By examining use of light, form, subject matter as well as other artistic elements, one can see how each artist conveys a message by utilizing their style of art. Although both Fragonard’s and David’s work convey different ideals through their style of painting, they are still able to use light in a very similar form. The viewer’s attention is directed on a specific point in the painting through the use of light. Both artists cast a spotlight on the figure or action in the painting that they want the viewer to especially notice. It is what each artist decides to focus on that makes his work is different from the other. A young woman on a swing who enjoys the pleasures of life is clearly where Fragonard wants to direct the viewer’s attention. However, David focuses attention on a male figure, specifically Socrates. How does the use of light help the viewer understand the ideals of each form of art? While Fragonard chooses to focus on a female and David chooses to focus on a male, the viewer now understands how Rococo can be a feminine form of art and Neo-Classicism the opposite. In addition, other stylistic e lements like color and form depict how each art form differs from the other. By using all this visual evidence, we will later see how the concept of deciding... ...d is clearly weaker than the one handing Socrates the poison. This shows how one’s duty to the government is far more important than one’s own personal views or feelings. We can make the argument that there had to be a relationship between Socrates and this figure. By paying attention to elements such as subject matter, light, form, and placement of figures, we can see how these enhance the ideals depicted by each form of art. As a result, we can understand how Neo-Classical art is an attempt to counter the values of Rococo. Rococo is a form of art directly targeted to the privileged. Because not everyone in society belongs to the aristocracy, the Neo-Classicist wanted to impose order as an alternative to the frivolous life style. As a result, we have to works of art that challenge each other’s ideals. The theme of infidelity versus loyalty and how one arrives at the decision made is animated in the works of Fragonard and David. However, it is important to note that there is no right or wrong form of art, although it may seem that this was the common perception of the time. In conclusion, both works of are similar in one important aspect; they are both works of art.

Job Shadowing

The career of choice I would like to pursue is auditing. Since this field involves a lot of confidential items and work I was not able to find someone outside my own current job to allow me to job shadow. Therefore, I would like to discuss a time where I first went on an audit at my current job, which is with the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. Before I got this job I was not sure of what I wanted to do with my accounting degree. I did not think of auditing as being a career choice until I got hired on with the IRS. Before working with the IRS I only worked as an usher for the Journal Pavilion and I knew I needed to get a job with experience related to my degree. So I took the opportunity to register to the e-recruiting listservs for the Anderson School of Management. Any job description that was sent to me where I knew I could qualify, I applied for. I applied to several job descriptions and got many rejections, and I knew it was because I had no experience related to the accounting field. Finally I got a call from Leonard Lopez who is now my boss for an interview for a temp position with the State of New Mexico. I went to the interview not really knowing what this position entailed but I knew any experience would be beneficial to me. That day I was hired as a temp and it started a chain of events that led me to wanting a career as an auditor. The first week I began to realize what the job was about and what the IRS did. My boss asked me to join two female auditors to help them with the audit field work. I was very excited as I have heard about audits and now I was about to experience hands on what an audit entailed. The females I went with were Christina Owens (Internal Audit Manager) and Jennifer Leal (Entry level Auditor). Christina has had nine years experience with auditing and she has a BBA in accounting, an MBA in Tax, and also a CPA. Jennifer just started as an auditor and has had about two years experience with another firm. We went out to audit the Dealership Reliable Nissan. When we first arrived we spoke to the manager about what we were there to look for and also what documents we were going to be looking at. The manager complied and gave us the transactions for our audit period which was for a year. Before hand Jennifer had seen the transactions and picked a random sample for us to check. We took those samples from the files and began to look at everything that was on our check list for the compliance based on the New Mexico state statutes related to the sales of vehicles. I enjoyed looking at these files and making sure the Dealership was doing its job properly. We also looked at bank statements to make sure checks were clearing and for other possible errors or fraud. We were there for about a few days and I enjoyed being out on the field. Then after we were done with the test work it was time to look over everything and write the report. Jennifer had me help her write the findings and I enjoyed that she gave me the opportunity to do so. Self Assessment I believe I enjoy this field of work because of both going out on the field and also having some time in the office. I like that most of the audits are done with more than one person so this gives you the opportunity to work with others and to learn from others. I am an introvert but I also like to be around people so I think auditing is a great mix for me to handle being around others but not just being by myself in an office all day. I also like the investigative part of auditing and being detail-oriented. When I started college I thought about being a detective of some sort and I think auditing feels that interest of having investigative work without having to be in such danger with the police department or FBI. One thing I have noticed is that I would like to give back to others or help the community. I think auditing does a little of helping others. For example, our agency goes to audit businesses to help them not just to find out things that are wrong with their operations. Also with the IRS, yes we try to save taxpayers money as weird as that sounds. So I think this helps with me wanting to help others. So for the most part I feel like auditing is the choice for me right now. I need to dwell on the fact that if I choose auditing as a career will I want to do this for 40 years. Right now I say I can but I never know what I will encounter in the future. Career Exploration As I said above I was introduced to my current job from the e-recruiting services offered at ASM. I think that this service is great to have for busy students. I found it hard to find jobs online or from the newspaper. I registered on the Monster. com site and although it gave me job descriptions related to my degree it was a bit confusing to use and I got so much junk mail and pop ups when using there site. With the e-recruiting I get the best job ads sent right to me knowing that they are legit and meaningful to my degree and career choice. I also will attend information sessions and job fairs at UNM in the future. I have attended an accounting job fair once but I was really not sure what I wanted to do at the time so it was a little waste of my time. I also think when going to these sessions and career fairs I will gain access to the companies available for auditing positions and I will access these companies websites. All options made by UNM should surely help me find a job to apply for. List of Search Tactics I have already taken the opportunity to upload my resume and information on the Career Services site for UNM. I continue to get job descriptions from the ASM listservs form e-recruiting and I keep my eyes open for any job I feel will be worth applying for or interesting. With the opportunity to do an informational interview for this class I believe I have got my foot in the door with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). I will continue to reach out to them and hope one day I can apply for a position. I will also continue my internship with IRS as long as I can and hope a position opens up for me there as well. I enjoy where I currently work and hope to continue networking with people in my organization. I plan to reach out to the DCAA when I have acquired my MBA and even the CPA. I will attend the career fair next semester when I am going to get my BBA, this way I can put my foot in the door for many companies and hopefully also see the DCAA there. Really if the opportunity comes up for any of these tactics I will act on them as I see them being appropriate.
